The Big Pour
Thanks to everyone who joined us to celebrate pots that pour! The delicious sangria was generously donated by Ara Wine Bar, and organic tea blends were from Stiggly Holistics NYC.
The show will be up for the entire month of May, so come by any time (T-F: 12-9; S-S: 12-6).
(Stone)Warehouse Sale
La Mano Pottery is having our first (Stone)Warehouse Sale during the whole month of February. All the pottery, made on the premises by our studio potters, will be on sale at reduced prices. 40% of the proceeds will go to The Children's Aid Society. There will be an evening event on Friday, February 12th, 5-8 p.m.
Please come and stop by for beautiful pottery at cheap prices -- maybe a Valentine's Day gift for someone special!

Staff Retreat 2009–Raku and High Firing!
Our annual staff retreat took place in early August at the beautiful upstate New York home (endearingly referred to as La Mano North) of Peggy and Howie.
Peggy is one of the owning partners at La Mano. Along with Howie, her husband, their hospitality and facilities allowed for a fantastic weekend of ceramic gas and raku firing, processes we do not have access to at our Chelsea studio.

Pots That Pour — Teapots and Pitchers
Opening Reception: Saturday, April 4 at 4:30
What a wonderfully mad tea party we had! The opening reception for our recent teapot show was a great success. Thanks to all who contributed sample teas and snacks. Ari Ellis of Ara Wine Bar generously donated tasty sangria, which was a great hit as well.
Making a ceramic teapot is arguably the most challenging project in functional pottery. There are so many technical aspects and countless aesthetic choices. The beautiful assortment of teapots, pitchers, and other "pots that pour" will be on display through the end of April in La Mano's gallery. Here are some photos of the work:
Holiday Party & Sale
On December 12, from 6-9 pm, is our reception for the Holiday Sale. Please join us!
We have a wonderful display of ornaments, vases, bowls, mugs, pitchers, and more for sale with a wide price range perfect for anyone looking for a gift with a personal touch for someone special.
Gift certificates can also be purchased. They can be used towards being a monthly studio potter, paying for someone's firing fees, or for a class.
Oktoberfest

Many thanks to all who made our recent Oktoberfest a smashing success! The studio was visited by over 200 people on Friday, October 17th. Everyone who purchased a mug was invited to join us in the garden for beer and soft drinks. Many La Mano artists - including students, teachers, studio potters - prepared unique drinking vessels for the evening's events.
